CANYON OF THE MORACHA RIVER – MORACHA MONASTERY BIOGRADSKO LAKE

It’s a unique opportunity to see contrasts of Montenegro in just one day. The departure is from the sea coast to the Skadar lake and Zeta Plain, along the winding way through the fascinating canyon of the Morača river which will raise your adrenaline and give you delight.

Visit to the Morača Monastery - one of the most famous historical and cultural monuments of Montenegro, the endowment of Nemanjić from 1252. For centuries it was a spiritual, enlightening, cultural and liberating center. It is surrounded by a high stone wall, with lodgings in the courtyard, decorated with frescoes and artistic carvings.

The most monumental painting of the Moravian cycle represents the prophet Elijah, persecuted, standing alone in the mountains, lonely, with a sole raven that brings him food.

Continue driving towards Biogradska Gora, which was declared a National Park in 1952, one of the five National Parks in Montenegro. A short visit to Lake Biograd, which is located on the mountain Bjelasica, at an altitude of 1094 m. Surrounded by one of the three most famous rainforests in Europe, it is only 16 km northeast of Kolašin. The lake is 1,100 meters long and 410 meters wide, with an average depth of 4.5 meters, which makes it suitable for boating and enjoying the clean mountain air and incredible scenes and reflections of the surrounding mountains and emerald colors of the lake.

After that, a short visit to Kolašin and the opportunity to enjoy the traditional dishes of this region.

In the evening, return to the hotel and have free time to walk around the city.
